Evening News Ratings: Week of December 27
The last week of 2010 was a strong one for the broadcast evening news programs, with all three broadcasts up week over week and year over year in total viewers.
As usual, “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” was the top program, followed by “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” and “CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.” Both ABC and NBC’s programs were up week to week in total and demo viewers, with CBS down slightly in the demo.
It was an unusual week, however, with the CBS and ABC broadcasts on a four-day week (Mon-Thurs) because of the New Year’s Eve holiday and NBC’s on a three-day week (Mon, Wed, Thurs) because of New Year’s and NFL football on Tuesday.
