Evening News Ratings: Week of Feb. 16

NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams placed first in Total Viewers and the A25-45 demo again last week drawing more viewers than the prior week. ABC’s World News, with Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos subbing, finished more than 1.5 million Total Viewers behind Nightly News, but cut the demo gap with NBC by 13% week-to-week.

And, in what may have more to say about the lagging performance of NBC’s New York station, “Nightly News” has finished in third place the last four weeks, behind ABC and the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. Nationally week-to-week, Couric’s broadcast was down slightly in both Total Viewers and the demo.

Total Viewers: NBC: 9,990,000 / ABC: 8,410,000 / CBS: 6,730,000

25-54 demo: NBC: 3,240,000 / ABC: 2,620,000 / CBS: 2,050,000

25-54 rating: NBC: 2.6/10 / ABC: 2.1/8 / CBS: 1.6/6
