Evening News Ratings: Week of Jan. 21

For the first time in eight weeks, ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson eclipsed NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams for first place in both total viewers and the A25-54 demo. World News was up almost 600,000 in total viewers from last week; both NBC and ABC added viewers week-to-week. In the demo, all three networks were up. This was the highest rated week for World News in both categories since the week of February 12, 2007.

Total viewers: ABC: 9,810,000 / NBC: 9,640,000 / CBS: 7,130,000

25-54 demo: ABC: 3,140,000 / NBC: 2,950,000 / CBS: 2,350,000

25-54 rating: ABC: 2.5/9 / NBC: 2.4/8 / CBS: 1.9/6
