Evening News Ratings: Week of July 2

Viewers didn’t take a vacation from the evening newscasts during the Independence Day holiday week. The three newscasts gained about 300,000 viewers from the previous week, most going to “CBS Evening News” and “ABC World News.”

“NBC Nightly News” remained #1 with a +354,000 total viewer lead on #2 ABC World News. But once again, the CBS showed the most growth. Compared to the same week last year “Evening News” is up +5% in total viewers. NBC and ABC are both down vs. last year. All three shows shed A25-54 viewers.

The weekly averages for all three programs are based on 4 days, with Wednesday, July 4 excluded.
