Evening News Ratings: Week of May 16
Katie Couric‘s final week on the “Evening News” did not move the needle much for the CBS newscast. While the Couric broadcast saw week-to-week and year-to-year gains, it still trailed #1 “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” by almost 2.74 million Total Viewers and #2 “World News with Diane Sawyer” by 1.96 million Total Viewers.
All three broadcasts were up year-over-year, with Williams gaining nearly +1 million Total Viewers and Sawyer’s broadcast up +900K. Keep in mind, all three shows were heavily covering the Gulf oil spill at this time last year.
