Last week, “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams was the No. 1 network evening newscast” in total viewers and the 25-54 demo, NBC notes. Williams beat Charles Gibson by 560,000 total viewers and beat Katie Couric by over 1.5 million. For the week of Oct. 2:

Total viewers: NBC: 8,544,000 / ABC: 7,975,000 / CBS: 7,038,000

Homes: NBC: 5.8/12 / ABC: 5.6/12 / CBS: 5.0/10

25-54 demo: NBC: 2,716,000 / ABC: 2,688,000 / CBS: 2,348,000

25-54 rating: NBC: 2.2 / ABC: 2.2 / CBS: 1.9
