In the see-saw battle for evening news ratings supremacy, ABC and NBC split the key categories last week. NBC's Nightly News with Brian Williams won in Total Viewers, while ABC's World News with Charles Gibson finished first in the A25-54 demo. All three network newscasts saw drops in both categories week-to-week.

For February sweeps, ABC and NBC split the key categories as well, with ABC winning the demo and NBC winning in Total Viewers. ABC won last year's February sweeps, while NBC won during November's sweeps.
