On Tuesday, TVNewser asked: Why is Fox’s new network called Fox Business Network, and not the Fox Business Channel?

A Fox insider explains: “The name Fox Business Channel would have been known as FBC, which is already the abbreviation for FOX Broadcasting Company… hence the name Fox Business Network (FBN).”

Referencing Rupert Murdoch‘s aforementioned desire to name the network after his new purchase, an e-mailer writes: “Assuming the sale of the Wall Street Journal to News Corp. gets the O.K., I would not be surprised if the Fox Business Channel’s name gets changed to the Wall Street Journal Channel…”
