“You know how he is.”
California GOP Senate candidate Carly Fiorina was caught on an open mic yesterday morning making comments about Barbara Boxer‘s haircut, Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, and Fox News host Sean Hannity. She had been preparing for an interview with ABC affiliate KXTV (News10).
“It’s really surprising that on the first day of the general, Meg Whitman is going on Sean Hannity,” she commented to an off-screen aide. “I think it’s bizarre…I think it’s a very bad choice actually. You know how he is.”
“Why after saying no to all these people would you go on Sean Hannity?” She added, “Sean Hannity is not an easy interview, you know?” which Politico’s Ben Smith described as “an odd observation for a Republican, but great for Hannity’s cred.”
Fiorina’s press secretary tells CNN, “This was nothing but early morning small talk.”
