Fox News’ Exclusive Trip with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano
Fox News Channel went on an exclusive New Years Eve trip with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
National correspondent Catherine Herridge, Justice Department producer Mike Levine, and cameraman Steve Shelton traveled exclusively with Secretary Napolitano during her week-long trip to Afghanistan, Qatar, Israel, and Belgium.
“Seeing is worth a thousand words,” Napolitano said after the tour. “This all involves safety and security in this part of the world. And that is something that has direct connection as well to the United States.”
The Fox News team has filed reports from Torkham Forward Operating base in Afghanistan about Homeland Security’s agents — from CBP and ICE — who are training the Afghans to patrol the hostile border with Pakistan.
Napolitano told Fox News it is vital to keep al Qaeda senior leadership “confined” in Pakistan so that it is harder for the terrorist network to plot against the United States.
