Mossberg of WSJ To Appear Regularly on FBN
FBN's rival network, CNBC (and parent company NBCU), has an exclusive 15-year deal with the Wall St. Journal lasting until 2012. But in January, FBN EVP Kevin Magee hinted there were some loopholes: "I believe the restrictions involve regularly-scheduled, branded segments. There is a carve-out for non-business news and there is a carve-out for breaking news." This won't be non-business news or breaking news, so apparently FBN has found another loophole to start using talent now found in its building. Mossberg makes his FBN debut tomorrow at 11:30amET. WALT MOSSBERG TO APPEAR WEEKLY ON FOX BUSINESS NETWORK IN A REGULAR TECHNOLOGY SEGMENT Wall Street Journal personal technology columnist Walt Mossberg will appear on FOX Business Network (FBN) in a regular weekly technology segment, announced Kevin Magee, executive vice president, FOX News. Mossberg will make his debut on FBN on Wednesday, July 9th at 11:30 AM/ET. In his new role at the network, Mossberg will begin appearing Thursday mornings in the 11:00 AM/ET hour with co-anchors Dagen McDowell and Brian Sullivan to discuss his "Personal Technology" column and other technology-related news of the day. In making the announcement, Magee said, "Walt is the most well-respected personal technology reporter in the industry, and his insights on new products not only influences consumer purchasing behavior but the technology sector as a whole. We are pleased to welcome him to FBN." Mossberg writes two weekly columns, "Personal Technology" and "Mossberg’s Mailbox," and edits a third, the "Mossberg Solution," for The Wall Street Journal. He also co-produces and co-hosts D: All Things Digital, the Journal's high-tech and media conference, as well as co-editing the All Things Digital Web site. Mossberg has been a reporter and editor at The Wall Street Journal since 1970 and is based in Washington, D.C. Email This Post |
