Memo: Fox News Radio Celebrates One Year Anniversary

In a memo to staffers this morning, Roger Ailes celebrated the one year anniversary of Fox News Radio:

When we started the Fox News Channel ten years ago, we told the world we were the Most Powerful Name in News. At the time, many doubted that, and some scoffed. But not for long. We proved that compelling reporting and a Fair and Balanced approach to the news was an idea whose time has come.

I'm proud to tell you that Fox News Radio is following the same path. One year ago, we launched Fox News Radio's full-service news network on some 58 radio stations. Again, many doubted, and some scoffed. And again, we proved the Fox IS the most powerful name in news. With 333 stations taking our service one year later -- plus coverage from coast-to-coast and border-to-border on both XM and Sirius Satellite Radio, you can hear Fox News Radio's hourly news broadcasts everywhere in the United States. And our stations tell us that people are listening, and liking what they hear.

It's not just the hourlies. Our affiliates do hundreds of live 2-way interviews with Fox News reporters all around the world every week. And they have instant access to thousands of pieces of audio - from actualities to reporter wraps to multi-part series. Fox News Sunday is now fed to Fox News Radio affiliates and broadcast locally every week. The stations have access to our radio-dedicated reporters, all of our TV reporters, many Fox News Contributors, and even special Experts of the Day.

When major news stories break, Fox News Radio goes on the air with live anchored coverage. From Presidential news conferences to hurricanes, we are there.

All this is only part of Fox News Radio's success story. More stations are signing up to carry our Fox News Radio's news service every week. A separate Fox News Radio Update network gives one-minute hourly headline updates to more than 200 other radio stations.

I want to congratulate everyone at Fox News Radio - here in New York, plus those based in Washington, Los Angeles, London and Jerusalem, on a wonderful first year.

Keep going, keep growing, and keep Fox News' Fair and Balanced news programming the Most Powerful Name in News.
