Just as in New Hampshire last night, voting in the 2008 TVNewser Challenge has ended, and the results have been tabulated. After thousands of votes were cast, some surprising, and some not-so-surprising conclusions were drawn by you, the readers.

In network news, the evening newscast race, which ABC won in 2007, was the closest vote of all eight, with 48% of respondents predicting an NBC Nightly News win and 48% picking ABC World News (NBC won by just seven votes). In the morning news race, 49% thought NBC's Today would maintain its dominance over ABC's Good Morning America, while 38% said they'd lose ground.

Katie Couric received more than half the vote in "Most Likely to Leave the Chair/Couch in 2008," with 52%. Larry King was second with 27%. MSNBC's Tucker was picked by 58% of respondents as "Cable News Show Most Likely to be Canceled in 2008," with FNC's Red Eye coming in at #2 with 14%.

Voters didn't have high hopes for Campbell Brown's new 8pmET program, with 80% responding it would fall in at either third or fourth place in the ratings at the end of 2008. The majority thought Shepard Smith would be staying put in his role with FNC (71%), and not begin a new role with Fox network. The Weekend Today co-anchor gig was a huge mystery, with 34% predicting Amy Robach would win the job, 32% saying Jenna Wolfe and 34% picking "neither."

Finally, 52% of respondents thought Fox Business Network would not finish close in the ratings to CNBC, while 33% said they would be competitive by the end of 2008.
