George, the popular grill cook at CNBC is no longer the grill cook at CNBC. And his departure is causing quite the stir in Englewood Cliffs and on his Facebook group, which has 53 members.

Some members of the public group claim George was fired, while another writes he “quit because of personal reasons.” One even uploaded a video to the site which shows someone holding up an iPad with the words “Bring Back George” scrolling across it like a CNBC stock ticker.

The official line from a CNBC spokesperson: “no comment.” But we bet he ate something fried today.
