Gibson on Staying With ABC: “We’ll See”

gibson_5-29.jpgAfter all the talk about whether an evening news anchor would be leaving the chair, an anchor is speaking out. No, not that one.

ABC’s World News anchor Charles Gibson‘s contract is set to expire soon after the presidential election, and his future is undetermined, reports Jacques Steinberg of the New York Times. “We’re figuring this out,” said Gibson of his contract negotiations. “They’ve asked me to stay. We’ll see.”

Gibson was asked if he wanted to continue in his role, and he said, “I honestly don’t know. We’re in negotiation at the moment.”

Gibson officially began his stint as anchor of World News two years ago today.
