Harry Smith Heading to CNBC?

A TVNewser tipster tells us Harry Smith is in talks to join CNBC.

Smith joined NBC News two years ago as a correspondent for “Rock Center.” That show aired its final broadcast last month. Smith, who spent 25 years at CBS News, has also reported for other NBC News shows and has filled in for Brian Williams on “Nightly News.”

CNBC isn’t saying one way or the other if Smith is entertaining an offer, but a spokesperson tells us: “Harry Smith is one of the truly great TV journalists and fortunately already a member of the NBCUniversal News Group so if we could figure out a way to utilize his skills to serve our viewers and users I’m sure we’d be interested.”
