Shep Smith explained the strange story on Studio B: “When our senior vice president of news editorial went to Iran, trying to figure out the best way to report from there, he ended up with a story of his own, and a meeting with an aide to the supreme leader of Iran, and a surprising if not astounding overture to the United States.
