“The television-news rumor mill is in overdrive with the buzz that NBC News President Neal Shapiro will soon meet the same fate” as Tom Touchet, Lloyd Grove gossips this morning. Jeff Zucker “has been actively seeking a replacement for the 47-year-old news exec, who has been in the job since May 2001…Zucker, I’m told, has been sounding out television types for possible names and even approaching specific candidates to gauge their interest in taking over the news division.”
