Capping off months of speculation, ABC News president David Westin has announced the new anchor team for “Good Morning America.” George Stephanopoulos joins the show alongside Robin Roberts. Juju Chang signs on as news anchor and Sam Champion remains as weather anchor and reporter.

“I’m pleased to announce that beginning Monday Dec. 14, our new anchor team at ‘Good Morning America’ will be in place and on the air,” Westin wrote in an email to the staff.

Stephanopoulos will also take on the role of chief political correspondent and continue to anchor “This Week” until a replacement is named, Westin said.

In addition to co-anchoring “20/20,” it was announced that departing GMA news anchor Chris Cuomo has been named ABC’s chief law and justice correspondent, reporting for all broadcasts and platforms.
