Jeff Daniels-Cable News Anchor?

Actor Jeff Daniels (pictured here in “Dumb & Dumber”) is in talks to play the lead in Aaron Sorkin‘s upcoming HBO drama pilot set in the world of cable news, according to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Lacey Rose.

Daniels would play the notoriously hard to work with anchor of a primetime cable news program.

Word got out in January that HBO had ordered a pilot of the series, tentatively called “More As the Story Develops.” If picked up, the show would be Sorkin’s first since “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” flopped on NBC. His previous shows include “The West Wing” and the cult classic “Sports Night.”
