Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski: TV Drama Producers
“Morning Joe” hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski are adding a new role to already-full schedules: television drama producers. Scarborough and Brzezinski have been named consulting producers on a new drama series, “Young Turks,” which is in development at NBC, according to Daily Variety.
At first glance, it isn’t clear what the duo would bring to the show, which is about a group of 20-somethings in New York City, however, Variety says the “characters find themselves in the high-powered worlds of finance, politics and media — which is where the expertise of Scarborough and Brzezinski comes in.”
No word on whether Scarborough and Brzezinski have gone to MSNBC’s new 10 PM host Lawrence O’Donnell for advice. O’Donnell was in TV drama as a writer and producer for “The West Wing” before he ever hosted a cable news program.
