Jon Stewart to Rachel Maddow: ‘Proportionality Is Not the Strong Suit of the 24 Hour News Networks’

Last night MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow hosted comedian and “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart for the entire hour, with much of the conversation, as you might imagine, about the world of cable news.

“Proportionality is not the strong suit of the 24 hour news networks,” Stewart said. “How would they handle the moon landing? Could they give it more coverage than balloon boy? Because balloon boy was everywhere. What would the font size be?”

At another point during the interview, when Maddow pointed out that while the networks may be 24 hours, hosts and staff are definitely not, Stewart tweaked MSNBC:

“Well, MSNBC isn’t even on during the weekends. Do I have to see a guy eat another guys brains on MSNBC, in a lockdown cell?”

After the jump, the full, unedited interview.
