It looks as though there will be two very rare interviews on cable news this evening. We already noted that Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity will interview George Zimmerman during his program, and now CNN says that Piers Morgan will interview Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia as well.

Scalia is kicking off a book tour, promoting his provocatively titled new work Reading Law: the Interpretation of Legal Texts. Of course, viewers should expect other questions to come up, such as the recent healthcare decision. Scalia will be joined by Bryan A. Garner, who co-wrote the book with him.

While interviews with Scalia are unusual, they are not unprecedented. He has spoken to CBS News and PBS’ Charlie Rose in recent years, and has occasionally been interviewed at events that were broadcast on C-SPAN.

His interview with Morgan will kick off a book tour that takes him across the country.
