Katrina: “Seat-Of-The-Pants” Nightly News

Brian Williams is getting ready for the Nightly News:

“Tonight’s broadcast may be one of those forays into seat-of-the-pants television news that we attempt on occasion. We’re in the cement catacombs of the Superdome, which is sopping wet throughout, the roof long since having yielded to Katrina’s persistent advances. We have no power, no working computers and one satellite path, which may mean that while we’ll go through the motions of writing the whole half hour… we may just wing it and hope it all comes together as a cogent narrative and times out right.”
