Kimberly Dozier To Be Honored For “Excellence In Journalism”

Kimberly Dozier.jpg CBS News correspondent Kimberly Dozier will be honored tomorrow night by the Milwaukee Press Club for “excellence in journalism at the national level”.

Dozier will be on hand in Milwaukee to receive her Sacred Cat Award, a tradition since 1973. Previous recipients include Aaron Brown, Judy Woodruff, and Max Robinson.

“We are extremely pleased to have Kimberly Dozier as this year’s Sacred Cat honoree,” said Press Club president Marilyn Krause in a press release. “Her award-winning work as a reporter and foreign correspondent places her among the best of the best, and what she has achieved in the face of numerous challenges is most remarkable. We will be honored to have her with us and hear her story at our Gridiron event.”

Her story, of course, includes surviving a Baghdad bomb blast in 2006. Dozier’s new book Breathing the Fire, in which she writes of the incident and her recovery, comes out May 13.
