Lara Logan’s Rising Star: Correspondent To Play “Lead Role” On New CBS Evening News
Correspondent Lara Logan will have a lead role reporting from abroad for the new CBS Evening News, president Sean McManus tells the New York Times.
“Some people just jump off the screen and have star value,” McManus says. “Lara Logan falls in that category.”
“Throughout her journalism career — which began in high school when she was a part-time reporter at The Sunday Tribune in her native Durban — Ms. Logan has been dogged by suggestions that she has used her model looks to unfair advantage,” Jacques Steinberg says.
She responded in an interview:
“There isn’t a journalist alive who won’t admit to you they use every advantage they have.”
