Late Night Ratings: Nightline Tops In Total Viewers During Odd Week
ABC’s “Nightline” had the most total viewers among the late night shows for the week of June 28. The news program finished second behind “The Late Show with David Letterman” among viewers 25-54 and 18-49.
It was an unusual week, with “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” airing late Monday-Friday due to NBC’s coverage of the Wimbledon tennis tournament. Wimbledon was also responsible for preempting this week’s “Meet The Press.”
As a result, ratings for “Tonight” are likely lower than they would be had it aired in its normal timeslot.
“The Late Show” was up over last week in total viewers and the demo, with “Nightline” essentially flat.
Note: ABC ratings are based on 30-minute broadcast, while CBS and NBC are based on one hour.
