May #’s: Dobbs Is #1 On CNN In Demo, Beating Larry King & Every Other Show

It can now be said: Lou Dobbs has the top-rated show on CNN in the 25-54 demographic.

Perhaps the most dramatic proof yet of Dobbs’ success, the newsman delivered more demo viewers than perennial first place host Larry King in the month of May.

Dobbs has been creeping up on King for a while. In the first quarter, he averaged 250,000 compared to King’s 295,000. In April, he averaged 284,000 compared to King’s 306,000.

In May, for the first time, he topped King, averaging 222,000 demo viewers at 6pm. King averaged 220,000 in the demo at 9pm.

Dobbs is only 100,000 viewers away from King in total viewers.

Additionally, Dobbs beat FNC’s Special Report “during two of the four weeks of May” in the demo, CNN notes. Both weeks, Dobbs had a few thousand more demo viewers than Brit Hume.
