Several e-mailers have asked: “Who’s the new Today Show announcer?”

“With new talent comes a new announce,” one person wrote. “Fred Facey died a couple of years ago, but his voice lived on playing every morning.” A second person said “they obviously made an effort to find someone who sounds just like Fred.”

The new voice of Today comes from Les Marshak, an NBC veteran who can also be heard on Dateline, NBC Sports, Weekend Today. “We tried to find a ‘new’ voice, but in the end we kept coming back to the Les’ voice as the best one for us,” a spokesperson said…
