Moonves On CNN Partnership: ‘I Don’t See It Happening in the Near Future’
CBS CEO Les Moonves appeared on Bloomberg Television today, in an interview with Betty Liu.
Moonves was bullish on the long-rumored partnership with CNN, but said it was unlikely any news would be made in the near future:
“CNN is a cable company, we’re a broadcast company. There are things we can do together and there are things we can’t do together. Are there ongoing discussions? There always are about how companies can work together and do things together to make a better future for both companies.”
And later:
“It’s a tough thing to accomplish. There are obviously certain reasons why it would be beneficial for both companies but it’s a very tough thing to accomplish so I don’t see it happening in the near future.”
Video of the interview is after the jump.
