Morning Show Ratings: Week of April 5

AM_4.8.jpgThe “Today” was #1 again last week, just shy of a 900K Total Viewer lead over #2 “Good Morning America” which cut that gap with “Today” by 26% year-over-year.

And while network morning show viewership is on the decline, season-to-date, the “Today” show is the only morning news program to post any demo increase (up 4% in Women 25-54). All three shows were down week-to-week in Total Viewers.

Now 17 weeks in, the new GMA anchor team of Robin, George, Sam and Juju is performing better than the previous team — up a modest 3% in the A25-54 demo and up 2% among Total Viewers.

The averages for the week of April 5:

Total Viewers: NBC: 4.97M / ABC: 4.09M / CBS: 2.52M

A25-54 rating: NBC: 2.33M / ABC: 1.64M / CBS: 1.1M
