They may still be a distant third, but during the 2007-08 TV season, CBS's The Early Show grew the most of the three network morning shows.

For the season (Sept. 24, 2007 - May 21, 2008), The Early Show added 80,000 Total Viewers from the previous year. NBC's Today show added 40,000 while ABC's Good Morning America lost 150,000 Total Viewers.

But that's not all, The Early Show was the only program to gain in a key demographic...

While CBS & NBC gained Total Viewers over the past year, only The Early Show was up in the ad-friendly A25-54 demo. The CBS broadcast was up 22% in A25-54, and, interestingly, the show was up 29% in Men aged 25-54. The show underwent an anchor change mid-year when Maggie Rodriguez joined the team in January.

The Today show and Good Morning America saw no change in their A25-54 demo viewers. And it appears CBS's gain in Men 25-54 was NBC's and ABC's loss. NBC was down 6% and ABC down 9% in the demo.

Total Viewer average for the 2007-2008 season: NBC: 5,690,000 / ABC: 4,760,000 / CBS: 2,890,000.
