Morning News Ratings: Week of March 12
The gap between NBC and ABC stands at 580,000 total viewers and 530,000 in the 25-54 demo.
The early daylight savings time change caused viewership declines for NBC and ABC, but CBS held steady. "NBC's Today and ABC's GMA suffered significant double-digit losses compared to the same week last year. In fact, Today had its lowest March week in 13 years (since 3/21/94)," CBS says.
Update: 11:51am: CBS had its "lowest March ratings since Steve Friedman started," an insider adds...
For the week of March 12:
Total viewers: NBC: 5,220,000 / ABC: 4,640,000 / CBS: 2,810,000
25-54 demo: NBC: 2,540,000 / ABC: 2,010,000 / CBS: 1,190,000
