MSNBC Dayside: What’s Next?

MSNBC_924.jpgToday’s hiring of Shannon High-Bassalik as managing editor of MSNBC’s live news programming brings up several interesting questions about current MSNBC personnel. Susan Sullivan is the Vice President of daytime coverage and Davidson Goldin is the editorial director of the network. Like Sullivan, High-Bassalik spent many years in local newsrooms. High-Bassalik spent eight years at CBS duopoly WFOR/WBFS in Miami. Most recently as VP of News, before that she was assistant news director with WSVN-TV in Miami.

The press release reads: “High-Bassalik will oversee MSNBC’s live news programming, including weekday, weekend and breaking news coverage and will assist Griffin in the administration of the network.” So what does that mean for Sullivan and Goldin?

>More: NBC/MSNBC’s Phil Griffin tells TVNewser Sullivan and Goldin “are staying. Their roles are as critical now as they’ve ever been,” Griffin says.
