MSNBC Enjoys Eight Days Of 25-54 Demo Wins At Seven & Eight O’Clock

MSNBC beat CNN in the 25-54 demographic at 7 and 8pm last week, and the trend has continued so far this week.

Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann have outperformed Wolf Blitzer and Paula Zahn for eight straight weekdays.

Last week, MSNBC averaged 180,000 demo viewers at 7pm, compared to 166,000 for CNN (and 423,000 for FNC). CNN had almost 200,000 more total viewers than MSNBC, and FNC had almost 1.6 million.

Also last week, at 8pm, MSNBC averaged 165,000 demo viewers, compared to 155,000 for CNN (and 536,000 for FNC). CNN averaged about 230,000 more total viewers than MSNBC, and FNC had 2.4 million.

The trend continued on Monday, with Hardball averaging 222,000 demo viewers compared to CNN’s 147,000. At 8pm, Olbermann had 220,000 and Zahn had 200,000.

On Tuesday, Matthews had 295,000 while Blitzer had 159,000; and Olbermann had 214,000 while Zahn had 132,000. MSNBC also beat CNN for the two hours among total viewers.

And on Wednesday, Hardball had 252,000 and TSR had 183,000. At 8pm, Countdown had 184,000, Grace had 161,000 and Zahn had 113,000.
