NBC News/Politico Republican Primary Debate Moved From May to September

The NBC News/Politico Republican Presidential primary debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library  is being moved from May to September. When the debate was announced in November, it was touted as being the first primary debate of the 2012 campaign.

Unfortunately, no candidates have announced that they will run as of yet, and only a few have indicated that they will launch exploratory committees. In other words, NBC and Politico faced the possibility of a debate with no candidates.

Fox News Channel also has a debate slated for May, while CNN has a debate scheduled for June. It is unclear whether those debates will go on as scheduled, or whether they too will be delayed to allow for more candidates to participate.
