NBC Nightly News Wins Loeb Award

Anne Thompson and staff of NBC Nightly News won the Gerald Loeb Award last night for a series of eight reports on the economic and financial impact of Hurricane Katrina.

The Loeb awards “are the highest honor in business journalism,” the AP notes. The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer won in the television enterprise category for “China Rising.” Myron Kandel, founding financial editor of CNN, received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
