Nightly News anchor Brian Williams was busy this afternoon. Sure, he had to prepare for anchoring the number one evening newscast, but he also had a fire to fight. (update: okay, this is tongue-in-cheek...he didn't actually go over to fight the fire.)

Williams writes on his Daily Nightly blog about hearing there was a fire two blocks from 30 Rock this afternoon. He went over to check it out:

It sure beat what I'd been planning to do at that hour: return phone calls. I pronounced the scene secure and went back to 30 Rock, ready for the next one. Some things just get in your blood.
