Six months ago, two tipsters said CBS correspondent Lee Cowan was jumping to NBC News as a Chicago-based correspondent.

His move was never officially announced, but Cowan made his NBC debut on Tuesday with a Nightly News piece about Barack Obama. (Brian Williams introduced him as "our newest correspondent.")
