Networks, Cablers Prepare to Cover President Obama’s Japan Remarks

At approximately 3:30 PM ET, President Obama will make remarks on the situation in Japan.

CBS News says that Katie Couric will anchor a “special update” that will be fed to CBS stations.

With the broadcast network in full-on March Madness mode, stations will air the update when it makes sense during the game. It is not expected to be carried live.

NBC News will have a special report, with Brian Williams anchoring with Chuck Todd in Washington. ABC News will also have a special report, with Diane Sawyer anchoring, joined by Martha Raddatz in Washington and Clarissa Ward in Japan.

As one would expect, all three cable news channels will carry the remarks as well.
