Newsers Don’t “Waste” Their Question to Obama On Blago
At a news conference called to announce the final members of his cabinet, Pres.-elect Barack Obama took only three questions. None was about Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
The first question was about the auto bailout, the second, from a Univision reporter, was about jobs and went to Obama and Labor Secretary-designate Rep. Hilda Solis. The third question went to NBC’s Savannah Guthrie who asked about Obama’s expected stimulus package.
On Tuesday, Obama told a Chicago Tribune reporter, “I don’t want you to waste your question,” after he asked about the embattled Illinois governor. We’ll be hearing from Blago himself in about 10 minutes.
Obama also named the second republican to his cabinet — Rep. Ray Lahood, a seven-term Illinois congressman who did not seek an eighth term. Interestingly, LaHood’s son worked on John McCain‘s campaign as a media advance man.
