Norah O’Donnell To Make CBS News Anchoring Debut Tonight on the Weekend ‘Evening News’
Tonight on the weekend edition “CBS Evening News” Norah O’Donnell will fill-in for Russ Mitchell. It will be O’Donnell’s first time anchoring since joining CBS News last month. O’Donnell joined the Tiffany network in June as chief White House correspondent. She had served as a regular fill-in anchor at NBC News at MSNBC before joining CBS.
On Friday’s “Hardball” on MSNBC, fill-in host Michael Smerconish forgot O’Donnell had jumped to CBS. Talking about the debt ceiling talks with NBC’s David Gregory, Smerconish said, “I think it was our own Norah O’Donnell who posed the question, something like the tick tock of what had gone on here.”
