A new book written by Mother Jones DC bureau chief David Corn alleges that President Obama blamed Fox News for some of his early troubles during a meeting with labor leaders. Corn writes:

Fed by Fox News, they hear Obama is a Muslim 24/7, and it begins to seep in…The Republicans have been at this for 40 years. They have new resources, but the strategy is old,”

Fox News anchor Bret Baier took issue with that quote, and responded on his program, saying “For the record, we found no examples of a host saying President Obama is a Muslim”:

Now, there was a weasel-word in Baier’s statement in the form of “host.” Many guests on Fox News, such as Donald Trump, have insinuated that President Obama is not a Christian, or implied that he a is a Muslim. That said, some FNC hosts, such as Shepard Smith or Chris Wallace, have pushed back against the myth, sometimes strongly.
