CNN’s Don Lemon reported at 10:12pmET during “Newsroom,” citing the NBC News report through the rest of the hour. DC anchors Wolf Blitzer and John King called-in, with King speculating that the White House had held the news Sunday because they wanted the terrorism officials out on the public affairs shows earlier in the day.
The president’s official announcement is expected at 10amET tomorrow morning in the White House’s East Room.
