An ABC News insider tells us one of the new global bureau correspondents is “already out in the field covering a major story.” Dana Hughes traveled to Johannesburg to cover the story of the trapped miners in South Africa. Hughes filed for ABC News Radio and ABC News Now, as well as the World News webcast.

Hughes is based in Nairobi. Before this post, Hughes was an associate producer for ABC News’ investigative unit, where she helped produce stories for World News, Nightline and GMA.
