Person of the Year Debate Moves to Today

personyear_12-17.jpgThis morning on the Today show, Meredith Vieira and Time Magazine Managing Editor Richard Stengel discussed possible Person of the Year candidates. The remaining field of eight will be highlighted on tomorrow’s show, with the winner announced live on Wednesday.

Time has narrowed the list down to a top eight “possible contenders.” They are J.K. Rowling, Al Gore, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Condoleezza Rice, Gen. David Petraeus, Steve Jobs, Vladimir Putin and Hu Jintao.

Rowling is leading the online reader poll, although there is no guarantee the editors will choose any of the eight.
