Peter Jennings “Has Shown Great Strength & Grace, But He’s Battling A Very, Very Difficult Disease,” David Westin Says

Every single day, I pause for a moment to think about Peter Jennings. Every single day, I get an e-mail (or two or three) asking for an update on his condition. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard anything new for many weeks.

A story in Monday’s Los Angeles Times, titled “ABC holds up without Jennings,” quotes prez David Westin as saying the World News Tonight anchor is an optimist. “He has shown great strength and grace, but he’s battling a very, very difficult disease,” Westin says.

But Westin “would not comment on [Jennings'] prognosis, except to acknowledge the seriousness of his illness.”
