For the past couple days, as President-elect Barack Obama has held daily news conferences, we've been keeping track of which journalists get to ask the questions. Politico's Michael Calderone takes a closer look at why certain journalists get chosen.

How did NBC's Savannah Guthrie get picked to ask a question yesterday? "Before Tuesday's press conference, incoming Press Secretary Robert Gibbs assigned numbers to CBS, NBC and ABC, then he had an aide select a number from one to three," writes Calderone.

As for why no FNC reporters have gotten called so far, Gibbs said there is "nothing nefarious" going on.

Today's news conference begins at approximately 9:45amETCT (10:45amET). Matt Lauer anchors a special report on NBC. ABC News NOW will carry it, but not the network. We're waiting to hear from CBS.
