Responding to complaints in recent days that he has not been very accessible to the White House press corp., President Obama made a surprise appearance during the White House daily press briefing today. Obama took questions from three TV new correspondents: CBS’ Nancy Cordes, NBC’s Chuck Todd and ABC’s Jake Tapper, who wrote a post about the president’s accessibility (or lack thereof) last week.
Obama has spoken to media outlets, though they tended to be local outlets and softer entertainment outlets like People magazine and “Entertainment Tonight.” Of course, those outlets also probably have a viewership or readership that are very different from cable news junkies.
The impromptu presser was carried live on the cable news channels
