Rachel Maddow, Voice of America?

A Guardian UK opinion piece calls MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow “…the best talkshow host in America.”

Some have taken the article as a sign of Maddow’s perceived popularity across the pond, or at least as insight into how the British see our cable news.

But despite the use of “programme” and “humour,” it was written by Amanda Marcotte, an American feminist author and blogger from Austin, Texas. The piece was not in the Guardian newspaper, but instead posted on the “Comment Is Free, America” site.
